A manipulation of this original photo by The Procrastinating Philosopher.
Separated the sky and the landscape in a quick and dirty fix, then played with curves to get the sky as dark as possible while leaving the clouds intact.

My intention for the image was to create a strong contrast between the black background, and the red brush-strokes layered on top. Through digital manipulation, I was able to paint over the image, mimicking the 'paintbrush' effect that is achievable through manually painting on an image. However, through experimentation of colour and drawing, I found that the best way to edit this was digitally, leaving it less messy, therefore creating a quicker editing time.

Loss of the pleasures of anonymity is the price one pays for becoming a public figure. But sometimes this costs even more: one falls from agent to object, from acting to being acted upon. And while one submits to the ministrations of others -- grooming, arranging, altering, correcting -- scores of busy unseen hands await their turn to join in one's fabrication. Just an experiment, a big experiment. Largely inspired by Rosie Hardy. and I mean Largely.
And it didn't really turn out like I wanted it to. But hey, it's a learning process right!
