St. Swithin's Day is the 15 July. According to folklore if it rains on St. Swithin’s Day, it will rain for 40 days, but if it is fair, 40 days of fair weather will follow. The attendees at this conference will obviously be hoping for rain on the day!

In this picture 86257 Snowdon is speeding towards Birmingham New Street with a train from Euston, slowly descending Camp Hill Bank towards Saltley is 56056 with an empty MGR from Didcot to Toton. The picture is taken at Brickyard Crossing although by this time the crossing had long closed, the actual brick yard was behind me nearer to Adderley Park. Looking at the bridge it is very obvious which side sees the locomotives working hard.
86257 was built at Doncaster Works, it entered service 26/01/1966 as E3139. It was withdrawn November 2002 and cut 01/11/2003 by Easo at Immingham Railfreight Terminal
56056 was another Doncaster product, it entered service 12/03/1979. The loco was withdrawn in February 2004 and cut by EMR Metals at Kingsbury
