Andalusia is located in southern Spain and covers an area of 8 provinces. Andalusia is the second largest autonomous region in Spain. Beautiful Andalucía, the land of olives, oranges, sunflowers, beautiful mountain ranges and valleys, nice white mountain villages with beautiful squares, is a bridge between two continents, Africa and Europe, and is the point where the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea meet. There is something for everyone in Andalusia, from culture to beautiful terraces, sights, long beaches, beautiful inland areas with beautiful reservoirs, mountains and nice villages to visit. Málaga is second-most populous city of Andalusia. Known to many as the capital of the Costa del Sol, Málaga is more than a seaside city. Málaga's history spans about 2,800 years, making it one of the oldest cities in Europe. It was founded about 770 BC by the Phoenicians as Malaka. The archaeological remains and monuments from the Phoenician, Roman, Arabic and Christian eras make the historic center of the city an "open museum", displaying its history of nearly 3,000 years. With powerful walls visible from almost anywhere in the city, Málaga’s Alcazaba is a Moorish fortress palace and valuable monument from the Islamic era. Just down the hill, beyond the outer walls of the Alcazaba is a Roman Theatre the best ancient monument in the city.
Málaga is one of the oldest cities in Spain and hallmarks of its rich past are scattered across Malaga: the cobbled streets of the old quarter, its mountainside Roman Amphitheatre, the Moorish citadels of the Alcazaba and Gilfarbaro. And even once the sight-seeing is done, there’s still a city full of rooftop bars, gleaming boutique stores and nearby beaches to explore. At our first roundabout of Málaga we have such a nice vista all around town. The fountain of the Three Graces in the centre of the roundabout and the Moorish fortress Alcazaba and Jardines de Pedro Luis Alonso on the background. The roundabout constitutes an important axis where the Park promenade, port of Malaga meet the Alcazaba tunnel.

There is something for everyone in Andalusia, from culture to beautiful terraces, sights, long beaches, beautiful inland areas with beautiful reservoirs, mountains and nice villages to visit. The capital of Andalusia is Seville. Another beautiful city of Andalusia is Granada. The crown jewel of Granada is undoubtedly the palace and fortress of Alhambra and is the most visited tourist attraction in Spain. It's an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The stunning hilltop palace overlooks Granada and is visible from all over the city. It is both a palace and a fortress surrounded by walls and was the residence of Moorish rulers between the 13th and 15th centuries. The Cathedral of Granada was built on the site of the former Great Mosque. The first stone of the Cathedral of Granada was placed in 1523, but it was not finished until 1704, 181 years later. During your trip to Granada, you should definitely go on a stroll in the Albaicín neighborhood. It’s located on top of a hill, right across the Alhambra. Rising up on a hill facing the Alhambra, the Albaicín neighbourhood is made up of a network of winding streets and small squares which open up suddenly to wonderful views of the famous palace fortress - with the Sierra Nevada beyond.
Granada is a city in southern Spain’s Andalusia region, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. It sits at an average elevation of 738 m. There are a number of miradores, or lookout points, dotted on the hills throughout Albaycin. The most popular of these is the Mirador de San Nicolas, once described by Bill Clinton as ‘the most beautiful sunset in the world’, with its panoramic views of the Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada mountains. Viewpoint from Albaycin on the church Parish of El Salvador in front of St. Bartholomew's Church and Alhambra palace.

This guy was taking off from Pennington Flash and was struggling to straighten up and looking as though he was caught in a crosswind…Lol

On the Colorado River, outside of Page, AZ. There were lots of people being a bit too careless at the edge of the canyon, but almost everyone was gone by sunset. The sky was amazing once the stars were out; I wish I had more time and had planned some night sky shots.
Elephants are my favorite animals! I went out on a boat along a river in the Okavango Delta and saw this family out having some water after a long walk. This is the time of year that all the animals come to the same location as the water dries up. Did you know that a group of elephants is called a "memory of Elephants"? Great name, eh? Who comes up with these things? Maybe elephants.
на фото по ссылке astronomy.ru/forum/MGalleryItem.php?id=13417).
фото по ссылке astronomy.ru/forum/MGalleryItem.php?id=13420

A great stop in western Mass is Teo's in Pittsfield, for their little hot dogs with chili sauce and a solid hamburger. Love the history and vibe of this place - I'll support a Teo's every day of the week and twice on Sunday over a chain restaurant when I'm on the road.

For anyone wanting the creative look of film yet ease of digital buy either a Leica M8 or a Noctilux lens! To me they both give less boring, less digital looking photos. The Noctilux on full frame as here is at it's best vs crop sensor

Meet Sydney
Was in Bethesda a few days back - after quite a while. Approaching strangers is always a challenge - and its not changed even after 200 plus strangers, and a big gap certainly doesn't help. After a couple of failed attempts I was planning to call it a day - but during my walk back I noticed Sydney at the counters through the glass of a jewelry store. Her sense of dressing and fashion with that hat and a superb personality was attention grabbing even through the glass. Realizing that it was near closing time, I actually stepped into the store (first time have done that) and made my request. And luckily for me Sydney accepted my request and stepped outside the store for a few minutes.
To say that this beautiful young lady was a natural would be a understatement - be it her confidence or her ability to express/pose. Despite the rushed and random nature of these pictures working with a stranger, she just rocked the pictures, despite being on the street. And did I mention the expressive eyes and her enthusiasm and happy vibe. I can only imagine how great she would do in a more coordinated session.
Sydney, besides being a store manager is also a student, working towards a degree in social studies I believe. She has been a trained ballerina which I think shows in the way she carries herself. She's only 22 years, but has already moved 14 times already - across the length and breadth of the USA and also Canada, courtesy of her dad who was a chef. Her favorite quality of herself - her ability to connect with people which was very visible during our interaction. Her favorite memory - her time in Canada leading up to the Olympics and the actual event. Where does she see herself in 10 years - married with a happy family and a successful career.
Thanks a lot Sydney for being a part of my project - it was a pleasure doing these pics. I wish you all the very best for your future and in achieving your dreams

Your eyes are not deceiving you, that is in fact Emeli Sandé, MBE, who was on Buchanan Street in Glasgow yesterday in search of street performers to join her on stage. Emeli Sandé, multi-award winning singer-songwriter, is travelling around Scotland in search of talent for the new BBC series, "Emeli Sandé's Street Symphony".
Her new show starts tonight on BBC television. Enjoy!
