The Avengers was a British television series featuring secret agents in 1960s Britain. It was an early example of the spy-fi genre, combining secret agent storylines with science fiction elements. Running from 1961 to 1969, it is the longest running espionage series produced for English-language television.

I wanna do bad things with you, bad urban pink things, but still bad things nonetheless.

I have had this song in my head since Scarlet Sunday. I have it in my head every week after Sunday, but typically not this long. This is my attempt at an exorcism. I figure if I can infect enough of you I might be healed. Either that or we'll all be humming, whistling, and singing out of tune, together!

This is pink for Pretty Pink Themed Tuesdays; Urban Pink. This is the bridge over the Kemptville Creek in downtown Kemptville. The pink building in the background is one of the local restaurants. The bokeh'ed guy at the other side of the bridge is wearing his poppy, this is also a Rememberance Day Urban Pink shot, a HBWE shot, and last but not least, a Happy Birthday wish for my sister, whose birthday I will never forget :) Happy Birthday Lori.

The Mekong is one of the world’s major rivers. It is the 11th-longest river in the world. Its estimated length is 4,909 km and it drains an area of 795,000 km2. From the Tibetan Plateau it runs through China's Yunnan province, Burma, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. The biodiversity of the Mekong mountains is one of the richest in the world. More than 1200 species of fish have been identified and there could be possibly as many as 1700. Fishing is a very important part of the economic activities in the area and a vital source of protein in the local diet. Even the rare species of freshwater dolphin, the Irrawaddy dolphin can be seen at the Lower Mekong. Irrawaddy dolphins have been documented participating in cooperative fishing with humans using cast nets by driving the fish towards these fisherman in response to acoustic signals from them.

This is another photo of the famous Japanese Maple.

I think one of the appeals besides the aesthetic quality, is that it gets good light most of the day. There are other wonderful maple trees, but they don't get the same light.

Not the best shot - we were trying the costumes on the dogs a couple weeks ago and the light was horrible and the dogs were not cooperating at all!

Yes, another postcard from Bruges, I repeat myself, I know… but I must admit I’ve been checking pictures from that day and I believe there is more than one “acceptable”… I could almost have enough for a mini postcard series from it… :)

Curiously, few days ago, after visit to this beautiful city, I watched one of the last movies from Colin Farrell named “In Bruges” that I really enjoyed it a lot. Sometimes can look slow but it was funny and surprisingly enjoyable. I recommend it honestly.

It’s filmed mainly in Bruges so many touristic places are shown in it and photography is really good…

Thank you all for your comments in previous picture… big hug to all of you.

I like more the bigger size...

So, I was shooting the sunrise out at the point on the far left of this frame, pointing to the right over the ocean when I looked up and saw this amazing formation in the strato-cumulus cloud deck. I looked around for some rock formations that lined up with the clouds but saw nothing out there. So, I ran almost a mile down the beach over terrain like you see in the foreground until I finally saw what I wanted.

Fortunately the cloud formation stayed in place long enough for me to capture it here!

Then I waited for a wave to complement the scene and provide definition to the sandstone formation on the right side of the frame. I have never seen anything like

this before or after, so I was quite fortunate!

The State Railways of Thailand are easily the best way to get around and see the country. Train travel in Thailand is comfortable, safe, cheap, environmentally friendly. It's a genuine Thai experience that makes the journeys as much part of your trip as the destinations... In fact, Thailand has one of the best metre-gauge rail systems in the world. Taking the train is the best way to travel between Bangkok & Nong Khai. Hop on the Bangkok-Nong Khai train, as Vientiane is just across the river.

We took the overnight train to the Friendship Bridge border crossing to the capital Vientiane of Laos. This photo was taken from the last railway carriage.

The Alps (French: Alpes; German: Alpen; Italian: Alpi; Romansh: Alps; Slovene: Alpe) is the name for one of the great mountain range systems of Europe, stretching from Austria and Slovenia in the east, through Italy, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Germany to France in the west. The word "Alps" was taken via French from Latin Alpes (meaning "the Alps"), which may be influenced by the Latin words albus (white) or altus (high) or more likely a Latin rendering of a Celtic or Ligurian original.

The highest mountain in the Alps is Mont Blanc, at 4,808 metres (15,774 ft), on the Italian-French border. All the main peaks of the Alps can be found in the list of mountains of the Alps and list of Alpine peaks by prominence.

The Alps are generally divided into the Western Alps and the Eastern Alps. The division is along the line between Lake Constance and Lake Como, following the Rhine. The Western Alps are higher, but their central chain is shorter and curved; they are located in Italy, France and Switzerland. The Eastern Alps (main ridge system elongated and broad) belong to Austria, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein, Slovenia and Switzerland.

The Alps are a classic example of what happens when a temperate area at lower altitude gives way to higher elevation terrain. Elevations around the world which have cold climates similar to those found in polar areas have been called alpine. A rise from sea level into the upper regions of the atmosphere causes the temperature to decrease. The effect of mountain chains on prevailing winds is to carry warm air belonging to the lower region into an upper zone, where it expands in volume at the cost of a proportionate loss of heat, often accompanied by the precipitation of moisture in the form of snow or rain.
