There's a saying 'red and green should never been seen, unless there's a colour inbetween'. What a load of old twaddle?!!
If you describe someone as lean, you mean that they are thin but look strong and healthy.
But today I discovered this:
Lean, also known as purple drank, purp, sizzurp, or oil, and several other names, is a recreational drug beverage, prepared by mixing prescription strength cough or cold syrup containing codeine and promethazine with a soft drink; that makes the user feel extremely drowsy and often euphoric.

i've visited curry's electricals. of the three possible freestanding electric cookers non were in stock and no delivery date could be given. with the way things are the cooker remains on hold for the forseeable future. let's just say it's the least of any of the current problems. it's almost rude on my part to even think of it as a problem more something to look forward to ...
ps i'm not recommending any of these cookery adventures. they suit my personal taste. photographing to encourage myself to eat more healthily ...
i've created a new group www.flickr.com/groups/cooking_is_my_hobby/ to gather ideas and encourage myself to continue with healthy eating by learning from others if you're interested in cooking, sometimes or a lot, or enjoy the cooking of others, you're always welcome ...
Scrub and trees are gradually reclaiming these cliffs at the huge abandoned Dinorwig Slate Quarry near Llanberis, North Wales. This was a technical 'mistake' - I'd left the ISO much higher than intended for the shot - but when I looked I really liked the abstract feel and the texture and colour changes across the frame. So no grand view here, but another more personal image that I like very much.
Dinorwig really is a little slice of heaven for landscape photographers.
The young and old - all of us will say farewell to this world one day.
Read Romans 6:23 - this is the Bible verse that changed my life 11 years back.

Polar Bears swim quite a lot and the scientific name maritimus reflects this. And just like a dog, when they emerge from the water they shake themselves dry. I managed to catch this bear with a large halo of water droplets propelled by the bear's vigorous shaking. Its neck was twisting right and left rapidly but the fast shutter speed has frozen the action. Most furry animals shake themselves dry when they get out of water, but the one I remember did not shake was a Cougar. I watched this one on Vancouver Island climb out from the sea and the water just poured off it before it bounded off into the forest: www.flickr.com/photos/timmelling/6157345626/in/photolist
One final thing, when I used the title I immediately thought of the wonderfully choreographed scene from Ferris Bueller's Day Off where he mimed to this song. I've just watched it again and enjoyed it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=81ZtmBAA_NE
We spent the weekend in Madeira Beach (near St. Petersburg, FL), and left yesterday right before they declared a mandatory evacuation. Hurricane Ian is headed that way and expected to arrive tomorrow.

On the left side of the lake you can see a part of the architecture of Carnisselande.
It's a man made lake , but it has become a fine lake , with nice reeds at it's shores and many waterbirds are visiting it. We're happy to have you near us Gaatkensplas!
An orange and purple glowing morning at Midden Delfland, with a fence and windmill taking center stage.
Had some doubts about how natural the purple was that came out of the camera. I tried to tweak the colours to make it look more "real", but could not achieve any satisfactory improvements. So, in the end I gave up, and just put all colour slides back to the original settings. Well, true colours or not, it sure was a beautiful sunrise :-)
When it rains in Vancouver areas, it really rains and walking can be treacherous. Puddles are everywhere and i some places water runs like small rivers along our hilly streets
