Last Friday shortly after sunrise. As you can see, it is already very autumnal in the Eifel, probably because of the long drought. A little mist I missed there (september 2, 2016).

Letzten Freitag kurz nach Sonnenaufgang. Wie man sieht ist es in der Eifel bereits sehr herbstlich, vermutlich wegen der langen Trockenheit. Ein wenig Nebel habe ich dort vermisst (02.09.2016, 7:31 Uhr)

I went to the Hermitage to photograph the nearby waterfall but loved all the patterns the swirls of water were making at this section of the river. The sun light just catching a few of the trees without lighting up the rest was an added bonus.
I used a Lee Big Stopper to get the 15 second exposure.

The building in this shot is Ossians Hall a Folly at the Hermitage in Perthshire. The trees are just starting to turn there now, in another couple of weeks it will be spectacular but unfortunately I am away (on another holiday) so will miss this.
I used a polariser on this just to cut the reflections on the rocks and the leaves, this and an ND grad helped to take the exposure time down to 1 second which was just enough to keep some structure in the water, while smoothing it out.
