NCB Treorchy shed 1968 by JW Drek Chaplin - Peter Brabham collection

DC3335

HE 3881/62

Photo of great interest to me as my father-in-law worked as a coal chemist in the labs in the background. My father who worked at the local colliery used to take me aged 7 to see these locos in the dilapidated shed in the late 60s. The shed was home to NCB locos working the short NCB branch from Treorchy to Parc and Dare collieries. The Parc & Dare workingmen's hall can be seen on the skyline.

Site is now a housing estate.
