Swords To Ploughshares

This church was, as you can clearly see, formerly a bunker. It was built in 1942, when the world war started by the Third Reich also reached the Reich territory. I find it interesting that the bunker was designed to look like a church from the outset. This served as camouflage against Allied air raids. I think it is a beautiful twist of fate that it is now actually a place of worship. Let us hope and pray that this special building will never again have to serve its original purpose. Swords into ploughshares! I wish for de-escalation rather than escalation in the current conflicts!
Diese Kirche war, wie man unzweifelhaft sehen kann, früher ein Bunker. Dieser wurde 1942 errichtet, als der Weltkrieg, den das Dritte Reich entfacht hatte, auch das Reichsgebiet erreichte. Interessant finde ich, dass der Bunker von Anfang an die Form einer Kirche haben sollte. Dies diente der Tarnung vor alliierten Luftangriffen. Eine, wie ich finde, schöne Wendung der Gesichte ist es, dass das es heute tatsächlich ein Gotteshaus ist. Wollen wir hoffen und beeten, dass dieses besondere Gebäude nie mehr seinen ursprünglichen Zweck dienen muss. Schwerter zu Flugscharen! Ich wünsche uns Deeskalation statt Eskalation in den aktuellen Konflikten!
