With Disneyland a reasonable distance from Phoenix you can make the trip at off-peak times. We went in January when we still lived in the Phoenix area. Four may have been a little young for speedy to go. She liked a lot of the gentlest rides but even Pirates of the Caribbean and Snow White kind of freaked her out.

 

She did like the Peter Pan ride though. She was kind of obsessed with it at the time and she especially liked Captain Hook -- I had to pretend to be him almost constantly at her request. She bought a plastic hook and walked all over the park wearing it.
