Strong Stream
A pick up truck burns on the side of north bound U.S. Highway 71 across from H and N Landscapes. Bowie County Sheriff's Dept. along with Pleasant Grove and Redlick-Leary Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the call around noon Wednesday. Workers with Campco were driving the truck along the highway laying down pipes for a sewage line when the truck got stuck. The driver of the vehicle left the engine running as he went to get a near by back ho to free the truck, as he returned he smelled smoke. The muffler had heated up to the point that is caused some dry grass to catch fire which ignited the fire in the truck. No one was injured as a result of the blaze.
