Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall
We arrived later in the afternoon in the center of Hiroshima, after touring Miyajima in the morning. It was my first visit to Hiroshima, and the Atomic Bomb Dome. It was a truly unique experience. In one way there's something eerily beautiful about the place, however, you are to be quickly reminded about its haunting past. What was the Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall has remained largely untouched, down to the rubble remaining at its base, since the Atomic Bomb exploded directly over top of its dome on August 6th, 1945, instantly killing those inside and 70,000 others.
