With the rumours of a London Grand Prix being added to the Formula 1 race calendar, fans were given a great opportunity to get a taste of seeing F1 cars and more in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea for the Chelsea AutoLegends festival. Formula 1 formed part of the great display with a superb collection of F1 vehicles both past and present. Also included past cars from the Le Mans championship, women in motorsport and stars’ cars from those celebrities who are passionate about racing and automobiles in general.

Chelsea AutoLegend’s organiser Max Wakefield commented prior to the event “We’ve worked hard to bring F1 to London and, although we might not yet be seeing the cars racing through the streets, to have such amazing examples coming to Chelsea is a real privilege. I have raced and won in a Benetton and I’m thrilled to have two great models at the show. The proposed plans for a London Grand Prix are really exciting and to bring a taste of F1 to the capital will hopefully fuel the desire to make this incredible event a reality.”

Chelsea AutoLegends is one of the country’s leading automotive events, showcasing both classic and contemporary vehicles. For 2012 the festival is supporting Armed Forces charity Walking with the Wounded. The event’s partners include EFG, John D Wood & Co and HR Owen.
