Debbie New: Hats
Debbie had a number of smaller items that were really interesting in how the freeform knitting and its seaming/weaving in of ends were used to create a more realistic palette of colour.
Debbie noted that she's not keen on flat areas of colour, as it stands out as very unnatural, and that in nature there are many colours observed as the light interacts with the different facets of objects (few of which have any flat areas of colour).
This colour depth is especially noticeable in these smaller objects where so many colours are used and the transitions are blurred with the woven in ends.
Debbie also mentioned that she found other methods of end weaving would alter the freeform knitting structure too much, but the dashed freeform line works best.
