Mosaic Swatch III - Stockinette Front

This one is going even faster than the other two! I'm not sure what has changed but I'm suddenly zipping along quite quickly here.

Part of the mosaic "shadow" pattern is the Escher-esque flip-flop of the pattern. I have worked out some of the key elements that make it work, and am looking forward to making my own patterns that work similarily.

Barbara Walker is a freakin' genius when it comes to the logic of this. The floats still need to be attended to, but there are far fewer, and once you get the tension right, it just zips along because you're only using one colour at a time.

The stockinette is even faster than the garter stitch because you don't have to flip the working yarn around on the return row, for one, and secondly it grows faster because it's stockinette.

Happy!
