Canada Day Moose
I forgot to buy cucumbers, so today, after picking up a prescription I went to Valumart with Joshua. We picked up the cucumbers and some kale and some mozzarella (which I also forgot to pick up at Bailey's), and were on our way out when the gentleman making these balloons to fundraise for a camp of some sort caught Joshua's attention.
So we stopped.
Milliseconds after stopping, a tall, large man, with apparently size 20 feet, who was getting himself a grocery cart, stomped backward directly into my right ankle, causing me to squeal and leap into the air, both startled and trod upon.
The balloon maker (and the stomping fellow) asked if I was alright, which I am (a little bit of ice/heat later), but felt so moved, he gave Joshua a little balloon creature and said "Ifeel sorry for your mom!", then told me how sweet and cute Joshua is.
All around surreal! But it's a cute balloon animal, and my ankle will be okay. The throbbing and aching has stopped, thanks to the icing and putting my foot up for a bit. No permanent damage, just a bit of a shock to the joint.
Joshua also got a chocolate chocolate chip cookie from the bakery (free to kids under 12 when you visit the grocery store), so he was quite happy with our efforts today!
