Morels
I think these are morel mushrooms, growing in some old maple leaves that collected under the Blue Spruce against the rock border of the garden.
One is currently a meal for a happy slug. The one the slug is on is about 3x the size of the other one. Only the two!
Not going to make my fortune in morels, at any rate. ha!
