I only have the thumbs left. I did one mitten, but the tension was off and it was too small for me and it was horrible, so I tore it all out and reworked the pattern.
I did them both far quicker than I did the first one, and I think they look pretty darn good!
I did lock the yarns around each other, for the sake of my tension. While the author strongly opposes that technique, I do not find it affects the look of the mittens (e.g. the dark is not showing through), but perhaps that's just something I cannot see.
