How I understand knitting flat line by line versus knitting circular.

 

To convert a flat knitting pattern to circular, unless the pattern is symmetrical, right side right to left, wrong side left to right and reverse k with p and p with k, et cetera.

 

To convert circular to flat, same.

Done
