Blue-winged grasshopper (Oedipoda caerulescens)

These are variable in colour - usually shades of grey or brown. They normally blend into the background as to be nearly invisible. When scared away they reveal their light blue wings during flight. It can be quite a spectacle to see numerous blue flashes appearing when walking through dry terrain. The latin name of the species means 'turning blue'.
