Night Fighters
Not much here really. Just making new with old. This is mainly to thank Calin for his insightful suggestion regarding the landing gear, and particularly the tire choice for the P-61. And tweaking the tail wheel of the corsair.
Here, the Black Widow is presented in P-61A-10-NO variant, with fixed forward turret to prevent buffeting. The new undercarriage allow for a lower ground clearance, making it a bit more accurate.
And, of course, I just could not resist building another corsair, this time in its night fighter variant, hence the Radar bulb on the right wing. The orange is conform to the Navy reserve group paint scheme.
Note : For those interested in the Black Widow, I strongly recommend Jeff Kolln's book titled 'Northrop's Night Hunter P-61 Black Widow' which was an incredible source of reference material during the building.
