Sole Survivor Art Gallery Reception 10_7_2011
Twenty pieces of original artwork by residents of Sycamore Village were selected to be on display at the local downtown Sole Survivor Art Gallery in Belleville. A reception was held on Friday to debut the extraordinary exhibit. Residents Maggie Reickenberg and Phillip Craig raised the most monies with their artwork at last year's art auction so they were chosen to be in the spotlight for the evening. They arrived with family members to the gallery via limousine and enjoyed a spread of shrimp and appetizers while they received many compliments on their artwork. Seven of the twenty paintings sold during the evening and the rest of the artwork will be for sale through the month of October. Proceeds will benefit the St. Louis University Neurology Department for Alzheimer's research.
