SP EMD SD45T-2

by swoofty

SP had problems with engines overheating in tunnels and snow sheds on some of its mountain routes so in the early 1970s they worked with EMD to make the 'tunnel' version of the SD45. By moving the intakes lower and increasing the exhaust size, the problem was mostly solved. SP was the largest customer for the tunnel motors and many are still working today.

The model is 44 studs long, 6 wide and unpowered.
