Southwest Black Bean Burger
Day 6 dinner.
Once again, Missy's photo looks more appealing than mine does. She said she was skeptical upon viewing but pleased upon tasting. I was skeptical on viewing and didn't enjoy eating it at all. The texture of the burger and the bun were similar, so it was just a mouth full of not-quite-crispy cracker to me. The cheese was the only thing that got me all the way through this meal, although the cheese overpowered the taste of the burger.
Meh.
Ingredients: beans, tomatoes, almonds, olive oil, lime, Braggs liquid aminos, cayenne, carrot, celery stalk, green pepper, garlic, cumin, jalapeño pepper, onion powder, corn (361 calories)
I have noticed at this point that I sometimes mentally crave things when they're suggested, but I don't have the physical/emotional component to it. So maybe it's not really a craving? I've read and heard that raw foodists experience no food cravings, so maybe it's just power of suggestion. I didn't think that would kick in so quickly. But maybe that emotional component was lacking simply because I know I'll be back on cooked food eventually and there's no "oh no, I won't *ever* have it" to it.
As we continue through this, I'm more and more interested in juicing and green smoothies. I also like to think that I'd incorporate more uncooked fruits/veggies/salads into my regular diet, but I'm terribly lazy about preparing food.
I've also noted that I don't have that bloating and stomach burbliness that I was having earlier in the week. I don't know how much of that was detox and how much of that was the cereals. Glad it's gone, though.
