Suwannoochee Creek, Georgia 1976

LtoR: Marc Helfrich, Ron Todd, Gordie Helfrich. I took my two sons and their friend down to Okefenokee Swamp for a number of days, the kids had a ball camping out, doing a little herping and watching alligators. Suwannoochee Creek is west of the Okefenokee and has its origin on the west side of the swamp. That day we captured and photographed a large Cottonmouth and saw an Alligator Snapping Turtle but could not capture it or get a photo of it. The only Alligator

Snapper I have seen in the wild.

Scan of old Kodacolor Print.
