The Old Oxford Mill
This is the first of two sketches of the Old Oxford flour Mill in Oxford Kansas. Such a great structure to draw and a beautiful area to spend an early morning sketching. This mill was built back in 1874 and has under gone at least one major restoration since it was built. These days it's used as a restaurant with a gift shop included. To my knowledge the local high school runs the restaurant giving the students the opportunity to experience the restaurant business and leadership skills. I have had the opportunity to eat there once and can testify that the food is quite superb. The morning I drew this view was pretty un-eventful unlike the following morning when I drew the back view.
