Introduced in 1962 route 292 was a trolleybus replacement route that also took over the northern section of route 52. It ran as far as Willesden at that time, but never as an all day operation, and had settled at reaching Colindale as the main southern terminus by the early 1970's. London Sovereign have operated this route since 1998 plus another period beforehand.
