Battalion Chief Stan Cooke speaks to students

SVFD helped East Valley's Continuous Curriculum School students celebrate good character and academic excellence today.

Battalion Chief Stan Cooke spoke to students during an all-school Awards Assembly about the PACE character traits of Gratitude and Respect. He told them "you have the power to take an ordinary day and make it extraordinary" for someone else. He said the two things people most want are to make a difference and to be appreciated. He encouraged the students to do this by "listening to others from your heart and have an attitude of gratitude." He told them, "you are unique and you are powerful."

SVFD Otis Orchards Station #4 crew members Greg Bennett, Joe Cushner and Brent Duprel joined Stan Cooke on stage to hand out the awards. Prior to the assembly, the crew showed Engine 4 to students on the playground and talked about fire safety. Thank you CCC for including SVFD in your celebration!
