Home on the Range
This curious steer and his siblings were grazing on the fall pasture in the shadows of the San Juan Range last fall. I visited the area today to check out the fall colors and other than a few isolated pockets there wasn't much going on. There isn't a flake of snow, although it has snowed there a week or so ago. This photo was taken about 1 month later that this, so the fall should be pretty much on schedule.
One other thing.....these calves have lungs. The high altitude cattle are very hardy.
