Licancabur volcano is an active stratovolcano in northern Chile on the border with Bolivia, 40 km east of San Pedro de Atacama town. Licancabur has an impressive symmetric shape with constant 30 degrees slopes. It is known for containing the world's highest lake inside 400 m (1312 ft) wide. The lake is ice-covered most of the year. The summit of the crater is at the height of 5913 m. (17.700 ft).
