Movember 2011 Challenge!
People! I hereby put forth A Movember Challenge!
Last year you helped me raise $542 for prostate cancer research. I want to double that this year.
If I can raise $1100 by Movember 23rd, I will dye my moustache a funky colour and wear it proudly for the last week of Movember. I shall post pictures, in fact attached is a simulation of what I might look like on Movember 24th if you are up for the challenge.
I actually think Grecian Formula and Just For Men are pretty darn funky. I know you may feel otherwise. So there is a second part to the challenge. If the $1100 goal is met then the person who has donated the most money can pick the colour I will use.
I had chosen $200 as the price for this honour, but it has already been met by one of my co-workers! Ed Carey will pick the colour ... unless you outbid him and stay ahead of him. Pass the hat, have an individual donate it on behalf of your group, you could steal the honour away from Ed! (in the event of a tie, I may allow for two colours!)
Right now I'm at $272, a quarter of the way to my goal.
I thank you, and my prostate thanks you.
In case you aren't convinced that I'm willing to embarrass myself for this cause, I give to you my Movember 2010 Timelapse Move: www.flickr.com/photos/suraky/5208242739/

Update Nov 11th, I'm 55% of the way to my goal! $603. I'd like to hit $1100. Please consider donating, it's a very worthy cause. If you're male and you live long enough Prostate Cancer is a problem you will encounter.

Update Dec 1st, 2011. Movember is done! I managed to attract a crazy amount of donations, from friends, family, and coworkers. My coworkers competed to own my mo and pick colours for it. I bleached my mo, I dyed my mo, twice. I suffered through a lot of strange looks on the street but it was for a good cause. My final number was: $5420!!! My company raised $37,850, almost twice our total from last year and more money than was raised by the country of Spain! As a team we finished 23rd in Canada. I personally (thanks to my team's efforts) finished at 128th place as an individual. I was told that I may have had the top number for Vancouver but I don't know how to confirm if this is true.
I don't know what I'll do next year, but I won't be dying my Mo! hehe
