•Butterfly Effect• [EXPLORE #1: 4/27/16]
Back in January, it seemed like every day was cloudy and colorful. I went out to shoot almost daily and I suppose didn't realize that the amazingly photogenic weather was more or less an anomaly. The sun would set early and I could leave before rush hour kicked in. I had worried that my shooting would outpace my posting so much, I'd never get to all the photos. In fact, I even skipped shooting a few of the days to give me a chance to review some older ones finally.
Fast forward to the end of April, and it's sunny 6 out 7 days each week and the clouds have been replaced by a thick haze. Often I check both the hourly weather reports of places I'd like to go, as well as the sky in Hollywood to determine if a long trip in traffic to the coastline would be worth it. Half the time, the clouds are gone by the time I arrive at my destination and the haze sets in until the sun goes down and typically ends up feeling like a wasted trip. I've used this opportunity to go back and see many unposted and really unreviewed photos dating to just before I left for California in early December. It's nice to catch up at least.
This shot was from my best day at Venice Beach. The sky was amazing, the colors were bold and the conditions were perfect. I started here in the mid afternoon and stayed for hours until the only visible light on was my iphone flashlight.
