EYE Is For Insomnia [EXPLORE: 11/17/15]
"What I like about it is that most portraits try to make someone look better, not look...worse"

I don't sleep well or much and I never have. I cannot remember a time in my life when it didn't affect me in one way or another. "no off switch for your brain" is what everyone loves to say. You get used to it. I always leave a bedroom window open so I can hear cars drive by. It's reassuring to know other people are also awake at all hours of the night.
with that said, this is not only the first self portrait I've posted anywhere, but also the first one I've ever taken. This is a single shot that I edited as black and white and I kept my eyes their natural color.
SETTINGS & LIGHTING:
Canon T4i
EF40mm f2.8 STM
ISO 100

pitch black room with CREE LED 1600 lumen flashlight as only light source. staring at the bulb is equivalent to a terrible ice cream headache.
