SuperCDMS SNOLAB Detector
SuperCDMS SNOLAB Germanium crystal detector within its protective copper housing. The electrical readout cable wraps around the exterior.
The Cryogenic Dark Matter Search (CDMS) experiment is one of several experiments underway to directly detect dark matter particles. SuperCDMS SNOLAB, currently in the development stages, would be located 6800 feet below ground at the SNOLAB underground science laboratory near Sudbury, Canada.
