1. This is an Ancient Cathedral situate at the Sea Front of TUTICORIN, a coastal town in South East India, has the calmest sea and largest port, Sri Lanka is just stone throw away across the sea.
2. This is the place where , your friend and well wisher SUNCITI_SUNDARAM spent his entire Childhood from Day One upto age 16.
3. This is the Place where several Christian Missionrys from West landed and established a strong base for Christian faith in this part of the world. To Day, Spheres of Several Churches of all branches of Christianity dominates the sky line. Francis, Xavier, Joseph, Caldwell, Pope, Mascarenhas, Machado, Chevalier, Roche, Fernandez, Fertado, Peter, Alphonsa, Almeida, Angelina, Anna, Thresa, Ford, Miller, Xavier, Francis Xavier, Maria .......are very popular names.
4. People of this place has never seen any Snow fall, but Snow is well known to them, for , This popular cathedral you here is built of Missioneries from West and idol worshipped here is The Beautiful Icon of "OUR LADY OF SNOW". As a child , this writer used to visit this church almost everyevening for playing if not for praying.
5. This Area is one of Biggest Producer of Marine Salt, and Thermal Power in the world. And even from pre historic days known as Biggest Producer of "Natural Marine Pearl"
Recently Me and my family re visited this place after a long gap of 40 years and spent few moments of emotional re union with this Church and Our Lady of Snow and overwhelmed with local patriotism.

Our Lady of Snows Shrine Basilica at Tuticorin, was built during 16th century in the Portuguese architecture. In 1542 St. Francis Xavier visited the shrine to catechize the paravars, the indigenous people of the Pearl Fishery Coast, and to strengthen them in Christian faith.
