Here Adam is setting off to the island with a load of cockle shells. Tern Island is straight ahead. A protecting wooden wall has been erected round the island. The "land" has been built up to a uniform raised level surface to make an ideal nesting habitat for Common and Roseate Terns, and as will be seen the odd Canada Goose will set up home here as well.
