I'm Back.......
Standing at the roof of Shogran .... "Paya".
Hey guys ...... I'm back from Naran after a thrilling & adventerous tip of my life.
It was not less than a Roller Coaster ride.
It was my first trip to that part of the world (Naran, Lake Saiful Malook, Shogran Sari & Paya). I think the road condition to Naran is never so good (from Balakot onwards), mostly it is underconstruction due to land slides in every summer season.
On first day, at the start of my journey i received SMS from a friend that there is a huge land-slide at a place 'Malakandi' (about 2 hours drive to Naran), but we (self & wife) decided to keep traveling by PTDC Bus hoping that the road will be cleared when we will reach there (coz it was about 9 to 10 hours drive for Naran). After Mansehra, we stopped and waited 3 times to get road cleared from land-slides and construction of road.
Just before sunset we reached at 'Malakandi' and the road was still blocked and stones were rolling down too. FOW workers stopped road clearing job untill next day due to evening. Now we were stucked with hundreds of other people going to Naran .....!!!
There was a hotel nearby, but it was not enough to cater the 100s of dishearted tourists ......... we decided to cross the area off the road but from the furious Kunhar river .... that was a big risk and challange coz the river was at high tide and the water was chilling like anything. When we saw people, young n old, male n female with kids crossing the river (not accross but beside one bank) ..... we also gathered our courage and with the name of Allah crossed the river. There was another problem waiting for us at other side which was conveyance ... lolz
After about 1 hour's wait we finally got a ride to Naran and reached there at 11:00pm.
That was the real Start of our tour..............
2nd day was raining all day and it was very cold, the temperature was around 5 - 10C and we stayed at hotel room until afternoon when rain stopped. In the afternoon we could not go any far but we did walk around Naran town.
3rd day was clear and shining, we hired a jeep for Lake Saiful Maluk from Naran and after 45 minutes steep & bumpy ride on the rocky mountains we reached at the breath taking site of Lake Saiful Maluk ..... You never know how quickly time passes there, we wished to stay there for all day but we only spent 3 hours because our plan was to reach Shogran before evening. We enjoyed boat ride and walked on the glaciers beside the lake.
According to plan, we reached back to Naran and after lunch headed to Shogran to see Sari & Paya, so by the evening we reached Shogran. When we reached Malakandi "the land sliding area" the road was cleared by FWO workers but land was still sliding and small rocks were rolling down after small intervals, while crossing the sliding area a stone hit our Van but we all were safe. By the evening we reached Shogran and find a room in a hotel. After reaching Shogran we learnt that the road was again blocked at Malakandi due to land slide ..... this time we were lucy that we had a nerrow escape from that place.........
On 4th day, we went to Siri & Paya and saw beautiful panoramic snow covered peaks, like Musa ka Musala, Malika Perbat and Makra Peak.
After that excursion we packed for home and reached Islamabad in the night.
From this tour, we learnt that if you are out for enjoyment, you should also get ready for any unforeseen adventure or challange and face it boldly .... "nothing is bigger than human courage".
I am thankful to all my friends & family who prayed for our safe return during the journey.
