NSTCPAC Opens State of the art trainer
PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii – (Sept. 3, 2014) – David Williams, deputy director of Undersea Programs at Naval Air Warfare Center, gives an overview to attendees of a ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 3, for a new 3-D Weapons Launch Console Team Trainer, or a virtual Virginia-class submarine torpedo room. The trainer is based on open-source computer gaming code, and multi-touch panel displays give students an immersive and interactive virtual reality environment that allows for a wider range of simulations at a reduced cost.
