KDWB Fabulous Forty Survey, Dec. 28, 1963

Fab 40 survey from KDWB-AM 630 ("Channel 63") in St. Paul-Minneapolis, dated December, 28, 1963, a major turning point in American popular culture, in between the Kennedy assassination and the Beatles first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. No signs of a coming British Invasion found here. Twin Cities group The Trashmen have the number one spot with "Surfin Bird/King of the Surf."

Jim O'Neill (a.k.a. Prof. James Francis Patrick O'Neill) went to WLW in Cincinnati in 1967. Lou Riegert later became known as Lou Waters and eventually turned up as an anchor on CNN. Bob Casey was the stadium announcer for the Minnesota Twins from the 1960s to the 1990s at Metropolitan Stadium and the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, as well as a longtime radio sports commentator.

KDWB still exists as an FM contemporary hits station at 101.3 in the Twin Cities.
