Ideas for Opus / Andamento?
WIP - ENCHANTED FOREST - "Owed" to Surrealism... (stained glass, millefiore, ball chain, stainless steel flatware, on 1/2" MDF)
Finally got the nerve to quit playing with the mille and start working with it — so far I LOVE it! It is much easier than most of the other materials I end up working with. However, somehow I went from millefiore to Surrealism, which got me into some serious andamento considerations. I am looking for suggestions, ideas or thoughts on opus or andamento for the ground. I do also plan to add some small bunches of mille at the base of the tree trunks and axis' points. Because my composition elements are inspired from Surrealistic works, I want to accentuate the harlequin outlines, undulations, curves, hills and depressions and am just not sure of the best way to do it. Maybe Opus Sectile in carefully chosen shaded stained glass so that each section forms part of the checker board? Or Vermiculatum in concentric rings moving from exterior to interior? Incertum with shading? I've played around with various sketches and tess patterns, but none of them look quite right... Thanks!
