142/100 Wanda Chaney
Sometimes you break the rules and get away with it, other times, you should have remembered the rules. Glasses and caps can bedevil a portraiturist. The conventional wisdom is that the cap should go, and spectacles should have lighting that does not produce glare that obscures the eyes. Perhaps I should have remembered that............
Meet Wanda Chaney. Wanda is the associate of a feline activist, Chloe. Cats don't have owners, they have "associates". Wanda and Chloe are rule breakers too. Many pet parades are centered around the canine set, and Chloe finds that to be abhorrent. So, she has her associate Wanda enter her into as many pet parades and pet functions as possible. Chloe is a blue eyed white kitty cat, and quite possibly the bravest feline of Mardi Gras.
I really wanted a good portrait of Wanda and Chloe. I took pictures of Chloe in her baby stroller as well, but I should have been thinking better. Obviously, a portrait of Wanda holding Chloe would have been preferable. So, that makes not two, but three things that I could have done to make this portrait closer to what I wanted. Sometimes, in retrospect, we should be happy we managed to take the lens cap off.
Wanda is stranger #142 in my 100 Strangers project. Find out more about the 100 Strangers project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the flickr group page.
