Summer sunset
My summer vacation in Fernando de Noronha Island - Pernambuco, Brazil
Summer in Southern Hemisphere begins on December 22 (Solstice) and ends on March 20 (Equinox)
Fernando de Noronha is an archipelago of 21 islands and islets in the Atlantic Ocean, 354 km (220 mi) offshore from the Brazilian coast.
In 1988 70% of the islands' area was established as a national maritime park. In 2001, UNESCO designated it as a World Heritage Site because of the importance of its environment.
The archipelago is also an important site for breeding seabirds.
The life above and below sea is the main attraction of the island. Sea turtles, cetaceans (most common among these are spinner dolphins and humpback whales, followed by many others such as pantropical spotted dolphins, short-finned pilot whales, melon-headed whales), albatrosses, and many other species are frequently observed.
