Beautiful White Flower with Mini Hoverfly
Well, here it is; my first official upload taken with my brand spanking new Canon EOS60D.
It is such a pleasure to use, with it's silky smooth, ridiculously fast shutter action and reassuring heft and weight in my hand.
Took a walk around the neighborhood with it tonight for a test run, took a bunch of flower and some landscape shots; really nice, clean, beautiful shots with not much effort, although I know I still have such a ridiculous amount to learn about this camera that it is not even funny!
The only downside, and it is not much of one, is I already miss the 21X optical zoom of my Coolpix, as well as the ultra wide angle lens...I guess I had taken for granted just how far I could zoom in with that thing and just how much I could fit in any given frame!
Which is why I will not be retiring the Coolpix anytime soon, if ever...but still, I am so happy with my new camera and I know my love affair with it has just begun!
The instruction manual is 300+ pages of tiny, tiny text...and I feel I should read it all!
This has been a seriously awesome birthday day so far, by the way; nice relaxed day at work, my co workers took me out for a steak and beer lunch (which we all got paid to take, hahaha), where we sat on a patio at a nice pub and ate steaks and watched soccer and drank beer for two and a half hours before heading back to work.
Then I headed to the camera shop on my way home, picked it up, and have been experimenting with it from then until just shortly before now!
Now tomorrow is birthday partying day, Saturday is a trip to the zoo for me and my new camera, and Sunday is heading out to see all the Canada Day festivities, and all the wonderful photographic opportunities that will entail!
Now, if only the beautiful, warm weather holds and we don't get any more rain!
I would love to know what you all think of this shot, my friends, I know I still have a ton to learn about taking photos with this thing!
