Rods & Crystals

Another display in the Treasures of the Mineral World wing of the Glenbow Museum, here is an element in its natural state.

 

I should have included the information placard in the photo, but, since I didn't, I cannot recall just what element this is.

 

Possibly iron? Carbon?

 

If anyone can help me identify this element, I will be very grateful.

 

Whatever it is, I like how it has rods and crystals and angular points all over the place!
