Fifteen buses that are different!

Edinburgh celebrates the arrival of fifteen Hybrid Enviro 400 buses and ahead of the official launch on Saturday the 10th of September Lothian put on a display of three of the new fleet especially for enthusiasts at the Eastfield terminus. What a gesture of kindness and around thirty enthusiasts turned up on this fine September evening.

Lothian's new Hybrids are painted not in the usual red and white 'classic' livery but in Radiance Red over Winter Gold i.e. the standard weinrot und weis colours are changed for a pearlescent paint version.

Environmental Manager Dr. Steve Johnson gave an enlightened talk on the new state of the art buses while Publicity Manager David Cook showed off what the vehicles are capable of. Each of them drove Enviro 202 and 203 while our friend Chris Cuthill steered in with 204 to make up the trio.

A further display for the general public is scheduled for Saturday the 10th of September between 11 and 3 at Castle Street and the vehicles come into proper service on Sunday the 11th.
