321 'undressed'
I could almost hear a gentle purr from the ghost of this former tiger bus, Volvo B9TL Wright Eclipse Gemini 2, 'Zoom to the Zoo' number 321 (SN09 CVB) just back from the factory following repainting. As can be seen the shine on this one is awesome to say the least - you have to try and concentrate on the job in hand to get the picture and not get carried away at the sight and aroma in front of you!
321 was new in 2009 and one of ten buses wearing the highly acclaimed Zoom to the Zoo liveries and this one was painted with tigers in an overall wraparound. There are now five left and curiously enough one of each of all the animals still operate (317 Chimpanzee, 318 Penguin, 320 Tiger, 322 Zebra, and 324 Lorikeet birds).
I think most of us will miss the Zoom to the Zoo theme which was enormously popular across the city with travellers, but hey ho branding appears to be out of vogue these days as we return our buses mostly now to generic Weinrot und Weiss.
