Chelmsford Station, Midland Pullman HST Set [VIDEO]

Video clip of British Rail Class 43 High Speed Train (HST) Diesel Power Cars 43055 leading and 43047 trailing arriving then departing after passenger set down northbound at Chelmsford Station on the Great Eastern Main Line in the County of Essex (UK) on September 10th 2025.

43055 and 43047 in Blue Pullman livery and operated by 'Midland Pullman' are working the 1Z33 17:29 (22:47 33L) Paignton (Devon) -Norwich return leg of the 'Torbay Riviera Pullman' excursion on September 10th 2025.

43055 leading was built at British Rail Engineering Ltd. (BREL) Crewe Works and entered service for British Rail in July 1977.

Introduced into service from 1976 as Class 253 on the Western Region and 1978 for the Class 254 on the Eastern Region, the HST's were initially marketed as the InterCity 125.

The High Speed Train power cars are/were the fastest diesel locomotives in regular service in the world and in my opinion are British Rail's finest achievement.

While the Class 43 High Speed Train appears numerous times in my photostream, this is only the second HST set I've seen at my home town station since becoming a regular visitor here from 1978.
