Class 755, 755415
Brand new British Rail Class 755 4 car diesel electric Bi-Mode Multiple Unit (BMU) 755415 working a Norwich Crown Point- London Liverpool Street pre in service test train southbound at Hatfield Peverel Station on the Great Eastern Main Line in the County of Essex (UK).
755415 has not yet entered revenue earning service and is the first Greater Anglia Class 755 diesel electric bi-mode unit to appear in my photostream.
755415 was built for Greater Anglia by Stadler Rail at their facility in Bussnang Switzerland as one of the Stadler 'FLIRT' (Fast Light Intercity and Regional Train) modular family of trainsets.
The Class 755 bi-mode units should not be confused with the very similar looking Stadler Rail 'FLIRT' Class 745 Electric (only) Multiple Units which are also being introduced on the Great Eastern Main Line by Greater Anglia from 2019.
It's unlikely that a Class 755 bi-mode unit will be seen this far south on the Great Eastern Main Line on a regular service train when they've become fully operational.
Note the pantograph is 'up'.
