Class 483, 483004

British Rail Class 483 630V DC 3rd Rail 2 car Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) 483004 heads off Ryde Pier Head with a Shanklin bound South Western Railway service train at Ryde Esplanade Station on the Isle of Wight (UK).

 

Metro Cammell built London Transport 1938 Tube Stock 483004 entered service on the London Underground on October 10th 1939 and has been operating on the Isle of Wight 'Island Line' after refurbishment since 1990.

 

The 80 year old Class 483 EMU's are oldest type of train unit in normal revenue earning service in the United Kingdom (2019).
