Kelvedon/Feering Guidepost
A historic guidepost or fingerpost in Feering Essex (UK).
While I have no definitive data on this particular post I'm satisfied this is one of the hundreds of guideposts installed by Essex County Council between 1922-1940 and manufactured by the 'Maldon Iron Works' of Heybridge. Note the ECC legend on the finial/roundel.
It's nice to see the 'A12' still marked on the post. The post is located on the former Great Essex Road which became the A12 in 1922 and B1024 in 1967 when the village of Kelvedon was bypassed.
