Ruthie 1959

This little relic of Ruthie's childhood years at St. Agnes School for Girls was page one in one of her scrapbooks. Very cool - I have nothing of any of my early artwork, only a black and white photo of me holding one of my drawings.

I love the fact that, given it's her birthday, a pile of presents sits at St. Agnes' feet and that she's adorned herself with an ankle-length blue veil crowned with roses. It's a little hard to judge what plant that is to her left - a pot of miniature birch trees maybe?

The student who became St. Agnes reigned over the school's May Festival; runners-up became members of her court. Everyone else developed serious emotional problems.
